Red Hot Chili Peppers End Two Year Hiatus

Posted by: Todd | Comments (2)

red_hot_chili_peppers_aI really love the Red Hot Chili Peppers. No one in my humble opinion mixes, funk, punk, rock, and pop like them. My brother is such a huge Flea fan and I’ve loved John since “Mother’s Milk”. So after a two year hiatus its great to hear that they will be continuing on in October. On Billboard. com Chad Smith spoke of the coming back together.

Smith tells Billboard.com: “Everybody was like, ‘Y’know, I really like having this time off, not being a Chili Pepper and doing other things… It’ll be two years in September, so now we’re ready.

You can’t force people to play when they don’t want to play or aren’t ready to play or whatever – not in our band, anyway.

Time to be “Talkin’ ’bout my buddy’s funk it up fish bone!”

Eddie had surgery recently on his left hand to address pain he was experiencing that seemed to be getting worse.

Eddie Van Halen: “During the last leg of our tour, I started developing pain in my thumb and my pinky. I didn’t think much of it at the time.” “It got progressively worse to the point that about three months ago I wasn’t able to play at all. My pinky and my thumb were totally locked up and felt like there was something broken.” -Rolling Stone

Sources say he is recovering nicely and the rehab of his hand should be complete in 4-6 months.

Hope you get better soon Ed! Can’t wait to hear you ripping it up again soon and hear some new VH tunes.

Have a cool lick you want to share?

Posted by: Todd | Comments (0)

I came across the maker of this site on Twitter and thought it was a neat idea so I thought I’d share. It’s a cool little site that allows you to very quickly write out a tab of a lick you have come up with. I found it easy to use and it gives you options of ways to share it.

Check it out here TinyLick
